The new Skoda Kylaq is said to be in production at the moment and quite a few details have been released relating to it. The price is rumoured to start from around 8 Lakh and move upwards. This new car will sit below the Skoda Kushaq in the SUV lineup. Sources reveal that the length of the body of the car is less than 4 meters

1) Starts at just ₹8 lakh.

2) Body length will be 3995 m.

3) The wheelbase of the Kylaq is 2566 mm meanwhile the wheelbase of the Skoda Kushaq is 2651 mm. 

A contest was held pan India by Skoda to decide the name of the car which received over 2 lakh entries. Skoda saw over 20 thousand unique names and out of those, the name “Kylaq” was decided. The name is derived from Mount Kailash and means “Crystal” in Sanskrit.

Skoda Kylaq: Exterior, Features

On the exterior of the car, clean lines can be observed giving it that classic “Skoda” look. It has a split headlamp sitrep with LEDs up top and boasts LED projector headlamps lower down. It also has a wide and broad grill which takes up a lot of space on the front. The Kulaq has an 189 mm ground clearance and boasts 17-inch rims. 

The rearview mirror gets a turning indicator strip to offer a better driving experience. The tail lights are different from Kushaq’s as they are more boxy giving them a more muscular look. Just like the Kushaq it is built on the “MQB A0 IN” system which provides it a strong foundation. It has 6 airbags, ESC, ABS, traction control, brake disc wiping, rollover protection, multi-collision braking and Isofix child seat mounts in terms of safety. Not much has been revealed about the interior as Skoda wants to keep it a surprise.

The Skoda Kylaq will compete against the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite in this segment as it begins to enter the market.
